James Daigle, Jr., 85, died Tuesday, March 9.  Services pending with the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. 

Services -March 10 -Wednesday

Sarah "Polly" Speck was born May 27, 1932, in Stuggart, Arkansas, to James Franklin and Sarah Jane Larue Lamont.  She died Sunday, March 7, in Owasso, Ok., at the age of 77 years.  She spent most of her working life as a homemaker and caring for her family.  Loving family members include: son, John W. Speck, Jr. and his wife Karen, of Collinsville, Oklahoma; two daughters, LInda Boyd and her husband Darrell of North Bend, Washington, Susan Franklin and her husband JImmy Don, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband John W. Speck, Sr. and eight siblings.  Visitation will be held from 4-8pm, Tuesday, March 9, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso.  Funeral services will be held 10am, Wednesday, March 10, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Joe Taylor officiating.  Serving as casket bearers will be Jimmy Don Franklin, Jake Franklin, MIchael Speck, Ricky Harris, Braden Harris, and Jake Franklin.  Graveside service adn interment will be 2pm, Wednesday afternoon at Oak Hill Cemetery in Mannford, Oklahoma.  Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.  www.moweryfs.com. 

 

Services -March 11 -Thursday

Thomas Burton Gilliland, 68, retired Osage County Undersheriff, died Sunday, March 7.  Services will be held 10am, Thursday, March 11, at the Dewey Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. 

Mrs. Marilyn Patricia (Hardeman) Sayles, 52, wife of Dwight L. Sayles, passed away at 12:55pm, on Sunday, March 7, in the Jane Phillips Medical Center.  Funeral services for Mrs. Sayles will be held at 11am, on Thursday, March 11, in the Greater First Baptist Church, Bartlesville.  Rev. Michael Diggs will be the officiant.  Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the Dewey Cemetery by the Arnold Moore Funeral Service.  Mrs. Sayles will lie in state in the Drawing Rooms of the Arnold Moore Funeral Residence where friends may call for their visitation until she is removed to the church for services.  Marilyn Patricia Hardeman was born on November 8, 1957 in Dewey, Ok. where she was reared and received her education.  She was the daughter of the late Royal Nathaniel and Lucy Hardeman.  She was employed by the Givens Nursing Home in Dewey as a caregiver.  On January 25, 1971, she and Dwight Leroy Sayles were married in Bartlesville where they have made their home.  Mr. Sayles was employed by the T.R.W. Reda Pump Co. until he retired in 1985.  Since that time, Mr. and Mrs. Sayles have continued to make their home in the Bartlesville community.  Mrs. Sayles was a member of the Westside Baptist Church, Dewey, Ok.  Surviving are her husband, Dwight L. Sayles, of the Bartlesville home; two sons, Steven Wayne Sayles, Norman, Ok, Timothy Eric "Tim" Sayles, Bartlesville; five grandchildren; mother, Lucy Juanita Hardeman, Dewey; brothers, Royal Hardeman and wife, Wanda, Dallas, Texas, Ernest Hardeman and wife, Glenda, Tulsa, Ok. and Willie Ray Hardeman, Bartlesville; and sisters, Viola Russell, Bartlesville; Annie Mae Grayson and husband, Robert, Bartlesville, Wanda Walton, Oklahoma City, Okla. and Christine Wooten and husband, James, rural Dewey, Ok.  She was preceded in death by her father; mother; one brother; James Hardeman; Lavessie Beavers and Doris Evans. 

Maria Angela Chavez, 88, died Monday, March 8.  Services will be held 3pm, Thursday, March 11, in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel.    

Dessie Arnold Kendrick Leahy was born June 25, 1913 in Topeka, Kansas to A.C. and Maggie Smith Arnold.  After a move to Colorado, the family settled in Grainola, Oklahoma where they owned the telephone company.  Dessie attended Grainola School and married Leon Kendrick in 1927.  Leon and Dessie owned the Shidler Cut Rate Grocery until moving to a farm north of Pawhuska where they operated the Kendrick Dairy.  Dessie and Leon returned to the grocery business in Pawhuska, managing the Cut Rate Grocery, the Packing House Market and later owning the L&K Grocery until Leon's death in 1958.  In 1965, she married Tim Leahy and they made their home at Boy Scout Camp McClintock, acting as caretakers.  After Tim's death in 1976, Dessie worked at Charles Cleaners and as a Senior Companion.  Dessie survived two bouts of breast cancer and lived cancer free since 1976.  Dessie was preceeded in death by son, Lawrence Gene Kendrick.  She is survived by daughter, Virginia Lee Craun and husband Jim, six grandchildren: Mickey and Rosemary Kendrick, Grapevine, TX; Larry Kendrick, Haworth, OK; Bill and Charmaine Kendrick, Pawhuska, OK; Gaye Lynn Kendrick, Pawhuska, OK; Jimmie and Patti Craun, Bartlesville, OK and Terry and Dana Thorne, Pawhuska, OK.  Twenty-one great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 11, at 2pm, McCartney's Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  Scott Pallet and Martin Witt will officiate.  Interment will be in the Pawhuska City Cemetery.  McCartney's Johnson Funeral Home of Pawhuska in charge of arrangements.

Gary Dwight Evans, Sr., was born October 3, 1945, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to James Shadrick "Buster" and Mary Chambers Evans.  He died Monday, March 8, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 64 years.  A lifetime resident of Owasso, Gary completed his secondary education in Owasso and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1963.  He continued his education attending Northeastern Oklahoma A & M in Miami, Oklahoma, before finishing at the University of Tulsa.  HE was married April 26, 1974, in Tulsa to Pansy Ruth Brooks.  Gary spent most of his working life with American Airlines retiring after 30 years as a manger for scheduling and planning.  He was a member of First Assembly of God in Owasso and was currently attneding Disney Assembly of God in Disney, Oklahoma.  He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including working on electronics, as well as fishing and guns.  Loving family members include: seven children; Quinton Ellis and his wife Jamie, of Pineville, Missouri, Melvin Ellis and his wife Vicky, of Afton, Oklahoma, Darren Ellis and his wife Tammy, of Chelsea, Oklahoma, Donna Peters and her husband Robert, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Gary Evans, Jr., and his wife Schelley, of Stone Bluff, Oklahoma, Brian Evans of Owasso, Oklahoma, Michael McCamey of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marian Maxine Evans.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother J.S. Evans, and a son, Christopher Evans.  Visitation will be held from 1-8pm, Thursday, March 11, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso.  Funeral services will be held 1pm, Friday, March 12, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Rev. Daryl Lee officiating.  Serving as casket bearers will be Gary Evans, Jr., Brian Evans, Melvin Ellis, Sr., James Evans, Melvin Ellis, Jr., Duane J. Evans and Tim Neumann.  Committal services and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contribuations be made to the Disney Assembly of God Building Fund, P.O. Box 439, Disney, Oklahoma 74340.  Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.  www.moweryfs.com. 

Danny Tim HIte was born April 19, 1943, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to Daniel and Opal (Armstrong) Hite.  He died Tuesday, March 9, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years.  A memorial service will be held at 3:30pm, Friday, March 12, in the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso, Oklahoma wiht Chaplain Ken Farnhman officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contribuations be made in memory of Danny Hite to teh St. John Hospice, 4720 S. Harvard Ave., Suite 202, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74135.  Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.  www.moweryfs.com. 

Jerold "Jerry" Winsby was born September 18, 1939.  He died Wednesday, March 10, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 70 years.  Visitation will be held from 1-8pm, Thursday, March 11, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso, Oklahoma.  Funeral services will be held at 10am, Friday, March 12, at Central Baptist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma with Rev. Kevin Laufer officiating.  Committal services and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in owasso, Oklahoma.  Arrangments and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.  www.moweryfs.com.

Charles S. Van Eck, 88, retired auto parts salesman, died Sunday, March 7.  Memorial services will be held 2pm, Saturday, March 13, in the First Presbyterian Church, directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
