The Monday morning meeting of the Osage County Board of County Commissioners began with a public hearing. The Commissioners were prepared to answer any questions or discuss adding additional territory to the Blackdog Fire District, which is being called Blackdog II. However, no questions asked and the public hearing was closed. The Commissioners then approved to add the resolution for public election, which will be held November 10, 2015.

The Commissioners then moved to accept three month bids for Road Oil, Asphalt, Sand, and Concrete mix. They opened and read bids from more than a dozen companies, accepted all the bid for tabulation then moved onto the next bid item. Bid 16-2 was for Oil Lubricants and Antifreeze, for which they only received one bid, from Cross Oil; which was accepted.

The Commissioners then spoke to representatives from Eagle Medical Transport regarding a new coverage area within Osage County. Scott Hilton mentioned that as Skiatook EMS will no longer be covering areas of Osage County effective January 1, 2016, and Eagle Medical is looking to fill the gap in coverage, however Eagle Medical will not be able to begin operating within Osage County until they submit the appropriate paperwork and the Commissioners approve the coverage area for the transportation company. Eagle Medical plans to be operational by the end of the year, when the coverage area opens.

Next week the Osage County Board of County Commissioners will meet on Tuesday, in observation of Labor Day, and will hold another Public Hearing regarding opening a section of service line for repairs. The Osage County Board of County Commissioners meet at 10am at the Osage County Courthouse in Pawhuska.
