Oklahoma's congressional delegation voted against the resolution that funds the Federal government at current levels through December 11th.  Senior U. S. Senator, Jim Inhofe says since Republicans regained majority in the Senate, we have been working to restore regular order. For the first time in six years, all 12 appropriations bills have been passed out of committee and with significant conservative victories. He says those bills are what the senate should have been considering, despite Senate Democrats’ threat to shut down the process unless Congress increased spending for domestic programs.

First District Congressman Jim Bridenstine and 150 other Republicans voted “No” on the Continuing Resolution.  Congressman Bridenstine says he believes continuing Resolutions are a failure to govern, a failure to represent the people, and a failure to exercise the power of the purse.  The House passed the bills to fund the government in the proper process.  The Senate failed to take up any of them due to Democrat filibusters.

The continuing resolution passed the senate by a vote of 78 to 20.
