Bartlesville Firefighters Save Children from Abusive Man

Two children are safe after Bartlesville firefighters intervened on Monday afternoon. Police Captain Jay Hastings said police were alerted to a situation near a convenience store in the 900 block of SW Frank Phillips Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found firefighters Josh Monday and Jared Seeley with a man held down on the ground. Firefighters Robert Horsman and Dustin Milligan were attending to the two and seven-year-old girls that had been with the man.

Sergeant Dave Hackler said that police were told that a man was walking around with two young children and had a machete.

Police identify the man as 30-year-old George Anthony Rubatt and arrested and charged him with child abuse, assault with a deadly weapon, intoxication, child endangerment , possession of amphetamine and possession of a weapon while intoxicated. Rabatt was in court on Tuesday and bond was set at $250,000. He'll be in court again on Wednesday.
