Oklahoma State University and the Sheerar Museum of Stillwater History have been working to preserve items left at an intersection in remembrance of those who died when a car crashed into a crowd gathered to watch the university's homecoming parade.

Four people were killed, including a 2-year-old boy. Adacia Chambers faces second-degree murder and assault and battery charges in the case.

The Oklahoman reports that stuffed animals, letters and other items have been collected over the past month to keep them from being destroyed by the elements. A small crew set out to collect the remaining items on Tuesday, the one-month anniversary of the crash. The items are being stored for now in a university building.

Officials have not decided what they will do with the items.
