School Board Elections Next Tuesday

School Board elections are scheduled across the state for next Tuesday, February 9. There is only one contested race in Washington County. Candidates for the District's Office 1 area in the Caney Valley School District are Clayton Ullrich and Andy Young.

School board positions in Bartlesville, Copan, Dewey and Tri County Tech are uncontested. Tyler Vaclaw, Office 5 and Nikki Benson, Office 6 in the the Bartlesville Public School Districts, will both continue on the Board of Education for another four years. Copan Public School Office 1 board member Ryan Shane Cameron, Dewey Public Schools Office 1 board member Chad Williams and Tri County Tech Office 3 board member Gil Greenwood will all serve for the next five years.

The next elections, including the Presidential Primaries are on Tuesday, March 1. Locally, voters in the town of Copan will make a decision between three candidates for the position of town clerk. Debbie Smith, Richard L. (Pete) Elkins and Barbara Mumma will square off for a three-year unexpired term. Voters in Copan will also decide who will serve for as town treasurer for the next year. Cindi Bryan and Wendy Johnson-Wickham both filed their declarations of candidacy for the post.
