An average Bartlesville utility customer could see an average of a seven dollar increase in your water bill soon.  The Bartlesville City Council approved a recommendation from city staff to increase water rates.  A few weeks ago, Administrative Director/CFO Mike Bailey presented a water utilities rate study from Leidos and help city officials find an economic way to increase water rates.  The City Council spent the majority of the meeting going over the best scenario recommended by Leidos.  City Manager Ed Gordon said that the issue was tough.

Bailey says that an ordinance will be brought before the city council as early as June.  The last time the city has raised the water rates was back in 2006.
