A Collinsville man who pleaded guilty in a fatal shooting outside an Owasso gas station has been sentenced to 28 years in prison.

The Tulsa World reports that 19-year-old Jacob Pepper was sentenced Monday. He has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Emmett Wood.

Police say Pepper shot Wood during an altercation inside of a pickup truck on July 24 when Pepper demanded money.

Authorities say Wood fell out of the vehicle before Pepper drove away. Wood was taken to a hospital where he later died.
