Free Fishing Day
The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation has just announced the dates for Oklahoma’s annual Free Fishing Days. June 4 - 5 residents of Oklahoma will have the opportunity to go out and catch fish without needing to buy a license. Fisheries Division assistant chief for the Wildlife Department, Ken Cunningham, says that the weekend will let anyone go out and try fishing for the first time. Cunningham says the department urges everyone to go out and participate.
While state permits aren’t required that weekend, local and city permits may still apply. Free fishing also will apply to all of Lake Texoma on June 4, but will only apply to the Oklahoma part of the lake on June 5.
