The Bartlesville School Board held a special meeting at noon on Thursday. The board met to consider several action topics, including an agreement with Sodexo for food service, and the approval of raising the guaranteed maximum price for the Central Middle School construction project.

However, some members on the board were not pleased with the request to increase the price. Board Member Randy Herren explains his frustration.

After some discussion, the board did approve to raise the price for fire rated glass, and for the painting of the gym.

Additionally, the board approved purchase orders for the Fiscal Year 2017 for about 7.6 million dollars. Because the fiscal year starts on July 1st, that money will be a temporary appropriation and used to start the school year for things like software updates and program starts. The amount will be corrected around October when the budgets come out.
