Black Preliminary Hearing Set

An Enid man who is accused of beating up another Washington County jail inmate in May of this year, has a preliminary hearing scheduled for August 25th.  James T. Black is charged with aggravated assault and battery and threaten to perform an act of violence.  Washington County Sheriff Deputies took a report of an inmate who was hurt by Black.

According to a court affidavit, video footage showed Black punched an inmate numerous times in the face while other inmates tried to block the view of the camera.  The inmate was taken to Jane Phillips Medical Center where he received five stitches to his upper lip and a tooth was knocked out.  The victim told officers that Black threatened to kill him.  Black is facing a pending charge of robbery.

Bond remains at $100,000.
