CHAMBER GOLF TOURNAMENT TODAY  8/25/16 1 PM  CHARLIE

The Bartlesville Regional Chamber of Commerce had a full card for its 37th-annual Legislative Golf Tournament on Thursday.  Jim Dunlap started the tournament 36 years ago while he was a freshman state representative after attending a similar event in Enid.  Dunlap says he believes the Bartlesville event is the longest-running continuous event of its type in the state.

Executive Director of the State Chamber, Fred Morgan says its important for him to be here every year, in part to support the local chamber and its staff.

Morgan and the local chamber bill the golf tournament as a way to pair members of the Bartlesville business community with policy-makers at the state level together to discuss issues in an informal setting.  Morgan says every participant will bring a different point of view to the event but he says there also will be areas of common ground.

Participants include members of both the state house and senate, executive branch agency representatives, and staff from Congressman Bridenstine's office.
