It was a slow start - and the Bruins never recovered on Friday afternoon against Bishop Miege.

The Bartlesville boy's basketball fell to Miege 60-39 in the semifinals of the Coffeyville Interstate Classic.

BHS plays in the third place game against Sand Springs on Saturday at 1:45 PM.

The Bruins fell behind the Stags 22-7 at the end of the first quarter and would never get the game within single-digits from that point on. BHS stalled on offense early - allowing a Miege team stacked with college prospects to build their lead and never look back.

Both teams stayed in zone defenses for the majority of the contest - which led to a slower pace of play and a hands-off approach by both teams.

Despite the lack of physicality in the game, Bruin senior Barron Tanner fouled out in the third quarter after a couple questionable calls.

The Sandites and Bruins will hook up after Sand Springs lost to Owasso, 58-56 on Friday night.

Barltesville beat Sand Springs 53-39 on Nov. 29 to begin the season. You can listen to the Bruins and Sandites - with a scheduled pregame of 1:30 on KWON - AM 1400 and FM 93.3.
