Dewey Lady Doggers End Lady Ironmen Season

The Dewey Lady Doggers survived and advanced into the regional consolation championship with a 56-54 win over the Nowata Lady Ironmen Friday afternoon at Verdigris.

Both teams went back and forth throughout the contest.  Nowata led 25-20 at halftime and were outscored 16-10 in the third quarter.  Dewey played stronger in the fourth, outscoring Nowata 20-19. Dewey's Karissa Jones led with 16 points and Kennedy Cleveland added 14 points.  Nowata's Kennedy Downing led with 28 points, 18 of those points came in the first half.

Nowata ends their season with a 8-16 record.  Meanwhile, Dewey improves to 11-14 overall and will play in the regional consolation championship with a berth to the Area Tournament on the line Saturday afternoon at 1:30.
