A series of suspicious fires of the past few months in the Jane Phillips Elementary School area of Bartlesville has fire officials asking for your help.

Police saw someone riding a bicycle beside the school at 1 in the morning on Sunday, October 8th.  The person saw the police car and fled the area.  The bicycle was found abandoned in the back yard of a nearby home.

The bicycle has some very distinct characteristics. The bicycle has black electrical tape wrapped around the handle bars, a unique seat pattern, and does not have brake cables attached to the handle bar brake handles.  We have a picture of the bike online as part of this story at bartlesvilleradio.com.

If you have any information concerning the owner or  operator of the bicycle or any information regarding the fires, call fire investigators Bill Hollander or Jerry Berry with the Bartlesville Fire Department at (918) 338-4089. You can also remain anonymous and use the "P3 TIPS" app or go online to the crime stoppers website. You can also contact Crime Stoppers at (918) 336-TIPS (8477).
