Bartlesville High had another split night in its home opener at Bruin Fieldhouse on Tuesday evening.

It was a nice crowd on hand to see Muskogee for a Frontier Valley Conference boy’s and girl’s double-header. The Lady Bruins won big 60-23, behind another nice effort from Jena' Williams. Bartlesville rained three-pointers early to take a swift lead and never looked back.

Williams finished with 20-points. The Lady Bruins improve to 5-0 on the season. They have won all five games by 18 points or more.

On the guy’s side it was a close one. Muskogee and Bartlesville exchanged leads before the Roughers took control in the third quarter to close out a 63-59 win.

BHS led by as many as six in the first half. Muskogee sprinted out to an early lead in the third quarter, but Bartlesville hung around. This three-pointer from Andrew Gronigan kept the Bruins in the game late.

Tayo Dina led Bartlesville with 21 points,  Gronigan added in 20. The Bruins fall to 1-4 on the year. Muskogee picked up its first win of the season.

Both Bartlesville basketball teams are off until Tuesday, when they close out the fall semester against Jenks.
