The Dewey Bulldoggers started off postseason play with a convincing victory over Cascia Hall, 82-to-55. The Doggers were lights out from beyond the arc yet again en route to the postseason win.

Dewey came out firing from beyond the arc as they knocked down five three’s in the opening quarter. Before you could even blink Blayz Rippy was in double-figures propelling the Doggers to a 22-to-10 lead in the opening quarter with 11 points.

Caston Frye also had double-figures before halftime as he dropped nine points in the second quarter. Cascia Hall cut the lead to six at one point early in the second quarter but then Doggers caught fire once again and never looked back after taking a 15-point lead at the break. This three-pointer from Frye helped stretch the lead.

The dynamic duo of Rippy and Frye combined for 53 points on 12 made three-pointers. As a team, Dewey was 13-for-23 from long range. The Doggers also took great care of the basketball turning it over just five times in the win.

With the opening round victory the Doggers are District 7 champions.

Dewey will await the winner of Saturday’s Millwood-Centennial before they know their opponent for Thursday’s regional matchup in Glenpool.
