Hillcrest Home to State Preview
The city of Bartlesville hasn’t been home to many state championships in the high school ranks, but Hillcrest Country Club will be just that next month for the 6A State Girls Golf Tournament.
Hillcrest officially gets a practice-go for the event on Friday during the 6A Girls State Preview. Teams from around the state will converge to in Bartlesville to play in the tournament, which acts as a tune up for the squads. Today will be particularly special for the Lady Bruin golf team, as Bartlesville High is trying to make it back to state – BHS has two of the best golfers in the state in Faith Hopkins and Emma Shelly. Speaker says playing at home has its advantages and disadvantages.
The State Tournament will take place May 2-3. Hopkins has won the 6A State preview in back-to-back years and is coming off individual tournament victories as well.
