It only took one game to name a Bartlesville Area Amateur Baseball champion on Thursday night, and what a game it was.

Nowata topped Oilfield Pipe and Supply 11-10 in four innings to win the title. The Ironmen take the 14-and-under city championship after going 3-0 in this week’s postseason tournament.

The game went back and forth throughout, with Oilfield trailing by two entering the final inning. On a pass ball and overthrow, Oilfield tried to squeak home the tying run, only to see it cut down at the plate for the third out, as Nowata would hold on to a one run lead and the championship.

Emmet Sells led Nowata at the plate, he went 2-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Sells was also involved in the out at home plate that sealed the win for the Ironmen.

FULL GAME

Nowata once led 9-4 in the game, before Oilfield scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth to tie it, but Nowata would add two more in the top of the fourth, Oilfield could only get one back.
