Oklahoma Wesleyan’s basketball teams will look to keep their momentum going in a home doubleheader against Kansas Wesleyan. Both sides knocked off McPherson on the road to open the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference season.

The No. 6 ranked men’s team has seen steady contribution from senior forward Joshua Wilchcombe. The native of Elmont, New York has notched double-doubles in consecutive ball games to give him 16 for his career. Wilchcombe was a member of the All-KCAC preseason team after being named first-team All-KCAC in 2017-18 despite missing the first eight games of the year.

Wilchcombe is already a skilled scorer, rebounder and shot blocker but he worked all offseason on improving his passing. Wilchcombe explains.

Wilchcombe is averaging just over two assists per game. As a team OKWU averages over 20 assist per contest, which ranks them 11th in the country.

The Eagles will need to keep the ball moving against Kansas Wesleyan, a team noted for its lockdown defense.

OKWU hosts Kansas Wesleyan for a conference doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. from the Mueller Sports Center. Radio coverage can be heard on 99.1 FM—1500 AM KPGM.
