Both Bartlesville High teams lost at home to Booker T. Washington in the Lady Bruins and Bruins second-to-last regular season games of the year on Friday night at Bruin Fieldhouse.

It is the second double-header in a row the BHS teams were swept.

On the girl’s side, Bartlesville built a nine-point lead midway through the second quarter before Booker T. started to mount a comeback.

The Lady Hornets won in overtime 56-50.

The game was back and forth the entire second half, with Bartlesville taking a 44-42 lead with 2:21 left in the game, but after back-to-back Lady Bruin turnovers, the Lady Hornets would tie it and then miss a shot at the end of regulation that could have won the game.

Bartlesville (16-6) would continue to go cold in the overtime period, with Booker T. scoring the first 10 points of overtime to pull away and win. Bartlesville has lost four of its last seven.

On the guy’s side, Bartlesville battled against maybe the best team in the state for two and a half quarter, but the Hornets were too much.

Booker T. topped BHS 77-54.

The Bruins (10-12) were down three at the end of the first quarter and ten at halftime. Bartlesville spent most the first half with the Hornets within a possession or two. This three-pointer from Tom Beard cut the Hornet lead back to seven late in the second quarter.

Booker T. made 14 three-pointers in the game, many of which were highly contested by Bruin defenders. Future NCAA D-I star Bryce Thompson led the Hornets with 25. Jaylin Oliver had 20 for Bartlesville after hitting three fourth quarter three-pointers. Beard added in 10, a career high.

Both Bartlesville teams will try to recapture some momentum before the playoffs - with their final regular season games of the year - and senior night - on Tuesday against Sapulpa
