Washington County Republicans gathered Saturday morning to choose delegates to April's state party convention.  Lieutenant Governor, Matt Pinnell spoke to the party members about the importance of grassroots party activity.

Pinnell assured the party faithful that he and Governor Stitt are working as a team for the benefit of Oklahoma taxpayers.  Pinnell pointed out that every level of government in the the state lives and dies by sales-tax dollars.  He says Oklahoma can do better in attracting those dollars.

Pinnell criticized the tourism sector for not doing a better job of telling its story.  He says we have tourist destinations in every sector of the state.

There was room to criticize the state tourism effort as well.  Pinnell compared Oklahoma to Michigan's marketing effort.

Pinnell says Oklahoma only gets a big return on its investment dollars through the public-private investment in tourism.
