The Doenges Ford Indians came close to securing their second win of the season on Wednesday night before a late-game collapse handed the ballgame to Three Rivers. Bartlesville led 3-1 in entering the seventh inning of game two before allowing eight runs to score.

The Indians took 1-0 lead out of the gate on a Shawn Sutton RBI double. Three Rivers wouldn’t respond until the fourth inning with an RBI groundout that followed a leadoff triple. Bartlesville would quickly reclaim the lead on this base-hit from Kyler Brandon.

Brandon would then score on a wild pitch later in the inning to give the Indians a 3-1 lead. Starting pitcher Cole Ellis sparkled for most of the game. Ellis allowed just one hit and one run through the first six frames. However, he would go on to allow five extra-base hits in the seventh as the Bandits would take the sweep.

Three Rivers won game one as well, 7-1. Bartlesville starter Britton Eppersen went the distance in a losing effort. The Indians are next in action with games on Friday from Rogers State University in Claremore. Bartlesville will play Okmulgee at 10 a.m. followed by Fort smith, Arkansas at 3 p.m.
