Bruin Football Players Commit to Colleges

A couple Bartlesville High football players that were key to the Bruins 2019 success both decided on their future over the weekend.

According to social media posts, BHS tailback Laken Clowdus has committed to Friends University, while Bruin quarterback Ben Winters has verbaled to Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

Both Clowdus and Winters had fantastic senior seasons out of the BHS backfield.

Clowdus rushed for 1,531 yards for Bartlesville, making it back-to-back seasons the Bruins have had a 1,500-yard rusher. He had 13 touchdowns on the season.

Meanwhile Winters went for 2,126 yards through the air, completing 121 of 231 passes. He had 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Friends University is an NAIA school in OKWU’s conference, the KCAC, based out of Wichita. Meanwhile SWOSU is an NCAA Division II school based out of Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Bruin saftely Taton Hopkins has already signed with Evangel University. Also defensive back Cody Tate signed with Harding for track and field.
