Nowata County Mishap
A driver who was impaired due to drinking is listed as the cause of a Saturday night accident in Nowata County. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports 54 year-old Raymond Pennington was flown by helicopter to Tulsa's St Francis Hospital and admitted there with head, leg, and internal injuries in fair condition. The report shows that Pennington was northbound on Nowata County Road 421 just after 11 o'clock Saturday night. Pennington swerved to miss a goat in the roadway and then struck 3 goats in the roadway. His pickup went 241 feet off the road and hit a tree. Pennington was thrown 6 feet from the vehicle after it hit the tree.
