Dewey Woman Arrested For Drug Violations
A $100,000 bond has been set for a Dewey woman who was arrested on a number of drug violations. 53-year old Janice Schukesting is charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, use of surveilance equipment to avoid detection, unlawful use of a police radio, possession of marijuana without tax stamp affixed, and possession of paraphernalia. Dewey police along with members of the Washington and Osage County sheriff departments served a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of West Don Tyler. According to a court affidavit, the authorities found Schukesting sitting inside a pickup that was parked on the yard of the house. Reportedly, officers searched the home and found a drawer that contained meth, unidentified prescription drugs, smoking devices, and digital scales. The authorities found under a bed over a pound of marijuana and meth. Officers also found two hand guns. Schukesting admitted she was selling drugs. Her next court date is November 15th.
