Friday Night Accident Injures Three
A Bartlesville man was life flighted to Tulsa's St. John's Hospital in critical condition and two others were treated as a result of a Friday night accident west of Bartlesville on State Highway 123. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports a truck driven by 47 year-old Mathew Roark of Bartlesville was southbound on 123. He turned left to go east on Adams Blvd and failed to yield to two motorcycles that were northbound on the highway and turned in front of them. 53 year-old Jeffrey Curtis of Ochelata was one of the motorcylists. Bartlesville EMS took him to Jane Phillips Medical Center, where he was then flown to Tulsa and admitted in critical condition with head injuries. The second motorcylist, 24 year-old Stephen Land, also of Ochelata, was treated at Jane Phillips for head, leg, and external injuries and released. Land's passenger on the motorcycle, 28 year-old Heather Florence of Bartlesville was also treated for head, arm, leg, and external injuries and released. Florence was wearing a helmet but the accident reports neither of drivers of the motorcycles were wearing a helmet.
