Johnson Sentenced For Lying To Officers
A Bartlesville man who is accused of lying to the authorities about January 4th's house fire that claimed the lives of five people, was sentenced Thursday afternoon. 65-year old John Mitchell Johnson pled no contest on a misdemeanor count of obstructing an officer. Washington County Associate District Judge Russell Vaclaw sentenced Johnson to serve 23 days in jail, already served, a $100 fine including court costs, and unsupervised probation. Bartlesville police interviewed Johnson on January 4th and 6th about the fire. According to a court affidavit, in those interviews Johnson provided false information regarding the events surrounding the incident.
