Unemployment Rate Drops
The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission received some good news concerning the state's unemployment rate. According to the commission, all Oklahoma counties saw the unemployment rates down for April.
Washington, Nowata, and Osage counties also saw their unemployment rates drop in April. Washington County's unemployment rate for April is 3.2 percent, compared to 4.2 percent in March. Nowata County's unemployment rate for April stands at 5.5 percent, compared to 6.5 percent in March while Osage County's unemployment rate for April is at 4.8 percent. That's down from six percent in March.
Latimer County reported the highest rate at 7.5 percent while Dewey County in western Oklahoma reported the lowest rate at 1.8 percent.
