Unemployment Rates Increase
The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission is reporting that all 77 counties saw their unemployment rates increased, including Washington, Osage, and Nowata counties. Nowata County is reporting their unemployment rate for May at 6.1 percent, up from 5.7 percent in April. Osage County's unemployment rate for May stands at 5.6 percent, up from 4.9 in April while Washington County saw their unemployment rate go up from 3.2 percent in April to 3.8 percent in May.
Latimer County reported the highest unemployment rate in the state at 8.4 percent while Dewey County in western Oklahoma reported the lowest at 2.3 percent.
