The Dewey City Council had a short agenda Monday evening and quickly worked their way through it. After approving destruction of old records, the council picked up discussion started at the last meeting about a possible gateway sign to go over Don Tyler Boulevard. The sign would be metal and stretch over the street on two brick pillars. Councilman Tom Hayes, Mayor Ron Revard and Councilman Wayne Sell said they took time from when the sign was first discussed to hear from their constituents.

With the negative response from the community toward the gateway sign, the council allowed the proposal to die by taking no action. In other business the council discussed possibly adding one or more logos to the new water tower and tabled the plan until the cost of adding more logos could be determined. Dewey City Council will next meet on the 21st of the month.
