Nowata County Commissioners along with representatives from Guy Engineering and Belk Bridge, Inc. gathered Monday morning for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Opossum Creek Bridge, located on old highway 169 about 3.2 miles south of the Oklahoma/Kansas line.  The project was designed by Guy Engineering Services out of Tulsa and was constructed by Belk Bridge, Inc. from Broken Arrow.  Nowata County Commissioner Tim Kilpatrick says construction started in June.  The new bridge cost $1.5 million dollars to construct.  The project was funded by the County Improvements for Roads and Bridges program.  The bridge was part of the 5-year bridge plan for Nowata County.
