Wednesday was a red flag warning day due to warm temperatures and gusty south winds. Washington County Emergency Management and many fire crews from around Washington County worked on a fire north of Dewey for the better part of three hours. WCEMD Director Kary Cox said there was one other fire in the area.

With the forecast calling for cooler weather and some precipitation over the next few days, the firefighters should get a chance to catch their breathe.
