The Bartlesville boy's basketball teams took care of Putnam City on Monday night in Broken Arrow, vaulting past the elimination round of the 6A regionals and into the Area Tournament.

BHS topped Putnam City 74-61, in one of the better Bartlesville performances this season. Led by Antonio Castillo, who scored 31 points - in what could have been his last game ever as a Bruin - a second quarter run provided the difference maker.

Five 3-pointers in a row, three of those from the hands of Castillo, gave BHS the lead for good, setting up a rematch with a familiar Frontier Conference foe.

The Bruins will take on Broken Arrow on Tuesday night for the BA Regional Championship game. The Tigers pounced on Enid, 71-44, to advance to the title game against Bartlesville. The Bruins are 1-1 against Broken Arrow this season. This includes the win over BA in BHS' Frontier Conference opener, 52-45 in Bruin Fieldhouse. And most recently, a 60-57 loss to the Tigers in Broken Arrow on Feb. 6.

The Bruins led late against BA in the game three weeks ago, but a shot from the lane with under 30 seconds left from Trenton Cantrell gave the Tigers the victory. Cantrell gave BHS fits in the most recent matchup, and will be a player BHS focuses on this evening.

Listen to Bartlesville tonight on KWON, 1400 AM, 93.3 FM with pregame starting at 7:45 and tip off at 8:00.
