The Barnsdall Lions Club is hosting the Lions KidSight USA a community eye screening for children in the Barnsdall community.

The Lions KidSight USA program has screened more than 500,000 kids across the United States annually ages 6 months through 6 years. According to the Barnsdall Lions Club press release “educational expert’s report 80 percent of learning is visual” therefore, if children cannot see they cannot learn. “Most children will not have their vision checked until it becomes a problem and by then, it may already be too late.”

To battle future eye problems in children the Lions Club wants to ensure eye screenings are available to all children and encourage follow-up care is given because “every child deserves to learn and see the world clearly.”

Screenings will be available at:

Osage Nation Head Start of Barnsdall and Hominy at the Barnsdall Facility on March 25 from 9 am to 10:30 am.

This Little Light of Mine Daycare at Lifehouse Church on March 25 from 2 pm to 2:45 pm.

Barnsdall Community Center (for all community children) on March 26 from 9:30 am to 3 pm.
