ConocoPhillips Announces Layoffs
Diane Coston
The word layoff is beginning to be a bad word in the oil industry. The Tulsa World is reporting that a spokesman confirmed that some employees will be laid off due to falling crude oil prices. The number of workers to be laid off is unknown but the layoff will be company wide. Reports are that the company would not release a number as the layoffs will continue in the upcoming weeks. ConocoPhillips has 18-hundred employees and around 500 contracted workers in Bartlesville.
