A high school student is dead after her vehicle was struck by a Claremore Sequoyah school bus northeast of Claremore Wednesday morning.  The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports the jeep the student was driving went off the road near the intersection of Rogers County North-South Road 4220 and Akin Road, about four miles east of Sequoyah High School around 8 A.M. The student over-corrected and her vehicle slid into the path of the school bus. OHP has identified the bus driver as 47-year-old James Hopkins. They also confirm that the student was the 18-year-old daughter of a teacher at the school.  The report indicates 42 students were on the bus, with two of them suffering minor injuries.  They did not need to be taken to the hospital.
