Severe weather during the month of May has caused a state of emergency in all 77 counties in the state of Oklahoma. Three counties in the Oklahoma City area, Cleveland, Grady and Oklahoma, have received approval from FEMA for disaster assistance. The Oklahoma State Standard Hazard Mitigation Plan meets the requirements of FEMA, keeping the state as well as all eligible local organizations and non-profit organizations, eligible to receive federal disaster assistance. The city of Bartlesville, the Bartlesville Public School District and Washington County officials are working together to update our area plan, which should be available for public input sometime in July.
