Suspects in Police Shooting Face Charges in Kansas

Three suspects involved in an Oologah police officer's shooting on May 28th will remain in the Montgomery County, Kansas Jail. Alejandro Garcia, Cesar Rios and Roxanne Mendoza were in a Montgomery County District courtroom on Monday and are due back in court on June 25th for a formal first appearance. The trio led law enforcement officers on a chase that began in Talala and ended in Liberty, Kansas. Garcia is being held on complaints of attempted murder in connection with shots fired at a Montgomery County deputy, along with several other charges. His bond is set at $2-million. Rios bond is set at $1-million and the bond for Mendoza is $500-thousand. Oologah officer Charles Neill took a bullet to the forehead but is expected to recover. The three suspects will also face charges in Oklahoma.
