Civil Case Secrecy Request by State Senator Rejected
Diane Coston
An ongoing investigation against Oklahoma State Senator Rick Brinkley is underway and will remain open to the public after Tulsa County District Judge Mary Fitzgerald rejected a request to file under seal a motion to put a civil case on hold. The Better Business Bureau of Tulsa filed suit against Brinkley in an effort to recover more than $1 million he allegedly embezzled while he served as an executive of the organization.
Brinkley is also under a criminal investigation by the Tulsa County District Attorney's office and the Oklahoma Ethics Commission is looking into his campaign spending.
