The Bartlesville City Council approved an agreement between the City of Bartlesville and the Bartlesville Public School District for a 10-year lease of Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.  As part of the agreement, the school district will maintain the field such as mowing while the city would take care of parking lot and other major repairs of the facility such as roof repairs.  The City would provide trash pickup, water, and other utilities.  The City has a $60,000 annual budget for the stadium, but according to Communities Development Director Lisa Beeman, the City has lost money in the past 10 years.

The stadium operating committee voted in their June meeting to approve the agreement and recommended the council to accept the agreement.  The Bartlesville School Board plans to take action on the agreement in their August 17th meeting.  Once the school board approves the agreement, the lease is effective August 18th.

The Bartlesville Bruins baseball team, along with American Legion and Oklahoma Wesleyan University plays their games at Doenges Stadium.
