A Couple College Bruins Excel

A former Bartlesville High running back earned some high honors this week. Laken Clowdus, a 2020 graduate was named Kansas Colligate Athletic Conference player of the week thanks to a great performance for Friends against Bethany.

Clowdus rushed for a career-best 196 yards and found the end zone four times, including a 53-yard burst to cap his big day.

Clowdus is now up to fourth in the KCAC in both rushing yards (605) and rushing yards per game (75.6).

Also last week, former Lady Bruin swim superstar was named Big 12 swimmer of the week. Kate Steward capped off an impressive weekend at the Kansas Double Dual against South Dakota and Missouri State this weekend, winning three individual events and one relay.

The senior claimed victories in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.82), 200-yard IM (2:05.06) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.66) while propelling the 200-yard medley relay to finish first with her time of 1:43.58.
