Adams Golf Course to Stay Open

Local golfers will still be able to take some swings on the links, after the Bartlesville City Council elected to keep Adams Golf Course open during their meeting on Monday night.

There was a recommendation from the COVID-19 Emergency Advisory Board to close the golf courses in the city.

The council took note of the measures that Adams golf course had taken to stop the spread of the virus; such as closing the clubhouse, disinfecting the carts, making the flag sticks untouchable and moving to tee times only, which have been scheduled further apart.

Bartlesville Mayor Dale Copeland talks about his feelings on Adams and arguments on both sides.

Copeland also noted that there may be some added risk with getting two people somewhat close to each other while playing, but pointed out that the city has not tried to limit groups of two anywhere else in Bartlesville.

The council decided to keep the course open while having a conversation with Adams and their golf pros about some limits and changes.

Only local residents and Adams' members be allowed to play. Tee time spacing will be addressed. There also may be a change to limit the number of players in a grouping
