Day one of the Bartlesville Area Amateur Baseball tournament is in the books and already we have seen some exciting action.

In the opening round Remax stole the show with a 20-4 win over Safari Smiles. Remax’s offense was sthe story as they scored 13 first inning runs to put the game away before it even reached the midpoint. In fact, the game lasted just 2 and one-half innings due to a time limit. Remax posted back-to-back triples from Marshall Palmer and this one from Eric Ohlenberger.

Ohlenberger also knocked an inside-the-park-home-run in the first inning of game one. Remax would then then go on to lose to second seeded Oilfield Pipe & Supply in its second game.

On the other side of the bracket, Copan rode Wyatt Wright to the victory over Nowata, 11-4. Wright allowed just one hit in the four-inning victory. However, the Hornets would run into a buzzsaw against top-seeded United Linen. The Green Team won, 16-1.

Tuesday’s games will feature an elimination game between Safari Smiles and Copan. Nowata will also take on Remax in a loser-go-home ballgame. Both of those games will take place at 6 p.m.

Then the winner’s bracket will pose United Linen against Oilfield at 8 p.m. you can hear that game Sportstalk 99.1 FM—KPGM.
