A familiar name to Bartlesville basketball fans earned a big honor over the weekend.

Former Bruin head boys’ basketball coach and athletic director Tim Bart was voted into the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Bart ran the Bruin program from 2000-2014. He had other head coaching stops at Moore and Tulsa Rogers. Bart gave all the credit to his players and assistants when talking about the honor.

In his 14 seasons Bart took five Bruin teams to the state tournament, including a runners-up finish in 2005.

Bartlesville finished with 17-wins, or more, nine times in his 14 seasons at BHS. Prior to his arrival, Bartlesville had only won more than 10 games once in its previous seven seasons.

He will be officially enshrined in the OBCA Hall of Fame during a ceremony on June 1.

More on this story later on this week.
