The city of Bartlesville continues to put out fantastic long-distance running, as some results from the weekend show Bartians faring rather well at the state, and even national level, in some big-time races.

First, in the Route 66 half and full marathon in Tulsa on Sunday, Bartlesville High School runner, 16-year-old James Martinez, finished 3rd overall.

Martinez finished with a time of 1:18. Meanwhile, in the full marathon, James’ dad, Juan Martinez, finished 1st in his age division with a time of 3:00:21.

James had also competed in another notable race earlier in the weekend

In Rogers, Arkansas on Saturday morning Martinez and Bruin senior Henry Williams both ran in the Oklahoma-Arkansas All-Star Cross Country Duel.

Williams finished first in the race, but James Martinez also finished third, a day prior to his outstanding half marathon finish.

Quite a weekend for James Martinez and all those Bartlesville long-distance runners.
