Bartlesville High Softball on Its Way

With some fall sports officially underway for high schools in Oklahoma, we will take a look at a few area teams, as the school year is just a few weeks away.

The Bartlesville high softball team is looking to continue to improve this fall.

The Lady Bruins went 13-22 this past season, they have just  two seniors in this year’s lineup. Bartlesville has about half its girls back that played significant innings last year. Caroline Pattison, Shelbie Roberson, Maggie Largess and Jaycee Hampton will highlight the returners.

In all, six or seven main players are back for BHS. Although the squad is still a little heavy on underclassmen, Bartlesville head softball coach Craig Hampton says he likes the group.

Hampton says after summer league games, he is giving his team time off. BHS won’t begin practicing until July 31. Bartlesville has a scrimmage against Ponca City on August 3.

They will open up the regular season at Enid in a double-header on August 8.

We will have more on Bartlesville softball and other area fall sports as the week continues.
