Bartlesville Loses First KC Game

It was a little too late on a great comeback attempt for BHS hoops on Thursday afternoon in Overland Park, Kansas.

The Bruins could not get a victory in round one of its Kansas City Tournament. A long scoring drought in the middle part of the contest cost the Bruins, as they fell to Grandview Christian 60-51.

Bartlesville had only five points apiece in the second and third quarters. Grandview outscored BHS 28-10 in that span, and that cost the Bruins the game. Bartlesville did make a valiant comeback effort, cutting a 17-point Grandview lead down to six in the final minutes. This Jaylin Oliver and one got the Bruins within striking distance.

It would be too little too late, however, as Bartlesville falls to 6-7 on the year.

Bruins vs. Grandview Box Score

The Bruins will face Ewing Marion Kauffman School in the consolation bracket on Friday at 3:00 PM. A 2:30 PM pregame - we will air that game on Sports Talk 1500 AM and 99.1 FM – KPGM.

You can also listen online at BartlesvilleRadio.com and on the Bartlesville Radio App, click on the KPGM link.

A scheduling note for BHS as well – they will play at 11:00 AM on Saturday regardless of Friday's result. The schools are moving things up because of possible snow in the area.

So Bartlesville will wrap up play in Kansas City at 11:00 AM on Saturday in a game we will broadcast on KWON - AM 1400 and FM 93.3.
