BHS Sendoff for 6A State on Thursday

Bartlesville High swimming will embark on its journey to state on Thursday morning, as BHS is having another sendoff outside the Fine Arts Center for both the girl’s and boy’s swim clubs.

The sendoff will be at 11:00 AM, and will encourage the 25 athletes that the swim teams are sending to Edmond. The 6A State Meet starts tomorrow. The Lady Bruins and Bruins should both have a chance to get on the podium, although nothing is assured.

BHS has won four straight state titles on the ladies side, but has yet to top Jenks in some big meets down the stretch in 2019. Jenks has also had the Bruin guy’s number this year. This doesn’t even mention some of the best swim programs on the western part of the state that BHS will face this weekend in Edmond North and Edmond Memorial for the girls.

The Bruin guys will also be challenged by Norman North and Edmond North. Bartlesville head swim coach Chad Englehart says his teams are solid on both the girl’s and boy’s side, but Jenks is a monster for the boy’s.

We will have coverage from Edmond as the BHS swim teams vie for state championships on Friday and Saturday.
