BHS Tennis Ended Too Early

We continue to look at some area high school spring sports teams who had their seasons cut short because of COVID-19, as many clubs would have been in the postseason this weekend.

At Bartlesville High, the boys and girls tennis teams had both gotten out to a good start, but unfortunately will not be able to see their full potential.

Third year Bruin head coach Bryan Reese says the girls especially had started off strong against some of the best competition in the state.

As far as seniors, the Bruin guys will lose some special ones.

Alex Le was a multi-year varsity guy, and will be headed to Oklahoma Baptist to continue his career at the college level. Cooper Williams was another senior who has been a varsity mainstay the past two seasons both at No. 1 and 2 doubles.

BHS again had no seniors on its regular varsity squad on the girls side, which bodes well for the future of Lady Bruin tennis. All six of their regulars who finished fifth at state last year will have their third season together in 2021.

Reese says he has stayed in contact with his team and looks forward to when they can get together again.
